Keith Silcox scanned and kindly sent me the entire contents of Ed Roth's California Choppers! Up to now, I'd never seen the contents of this magazine. Being a fan of Roth's Oink, I was especially pleased to see these two early photos.
This is the first swinging fender/sissy bar combo I can think of.An Ankh for Oink. This sissy bar was later replaced by a shorter iron cross topped one. The bike was a ridden work in progress. At this point it still featured fat bob tanks plus retained the stock handlebars, forks, headlight nacelle, and front fender. All of which are barely visible.

Sent you some more OINK! pictures, Chris. You'll like them!
Won't be at born free, will miss catching up with you & Joe Hurst, I'm afraid.
Too bad about Born Free, hope to see the Doctor there this year.
